For better and for worse, this comic strip is more insightful than funny. Really makes me wish that there was a way to sample domain names and web hosts like we do our foods. Instead, we are usually locked down into a yearly committment, typically costing a hundred dollars or more. I guess there is something funny in there, actually. We buy a product without any real guarantee of it being good for us. We can never really know how a web host is going to treat us. Sure, things might be great while we have no traffic and waste no bandwidth, but later on if our site does get a lot of hits, how do they treat us then? The same goes with domains. So if I buy Xbox2.net as a domain, should I accept it as a good thing or just wait for Microsoft to show up at my door insisting they need it and will sue me for using their name?
